My Thoughts On Exercise

Like most people I have always disliked exercising because of the work involved and the length of time it takes to accomplish what most people think a body should look like. If you are like me, all I ever wanted was to look good in my clothes. After finding Chi Gong and Tai Chi I finally found what I have been on a quest for all my life. Chi Gong and Tai Chi exercises can get to be quite hard if you wish and really give you a work out. Or you can do the exercise slowly and with rhythm so that it all just seems to flow with no effort involved. This makes exercising fun and enjoyable. Now I know a lot of health professionals will say that you have to get your heart rate up to 50-85 percent of your maximum heart rate and they have even come up with a formula for you to use to figure it out and maybe for some that is good. I have found through some research of my own that the Chinese have been using Chi Gong and Tai Chi for 4000 years and have maintained great health as well as lived long lives.

Now mind you, I am not disputing the medical community. I just think that there is a better way. By exercising using the methods that I am speaking about there are so many benefits to be gained with just a little effort. Through the practice of Chi Gong and Tai Chi you are able to concentrate better feel relaxed, have more energy, and less stress in your life. The one thing it does is to keep our bodies loose and flexible as if it were a new sapling that had just sprung to life. The main value in the body being loose and flexible is that you are less prone to experiencing falls and broken bones. That alone in my humble opinion is enough of a reason to practice Chi Gong and Tai Chi as well as to cut down our medical expenses “which I might add have gone through the roof” as you all know.

My story is much like most of you out there reading this. I lived a very busy, fast life without much regard for my body until it rebelled against me. As I had abused my body for years it started fighting back by making me sick and in pain. Like most of you I was brought up believing that if you were sick or hurt you should go to the doctor because they can make it better. Well I did that and they started prescribing different pills and some exercises but none of it made me feel good and I never felt like I was getting well. It just took care of the symptoms but not the cause. So after many years and a lot of money going to the doctors and testing and prescriptions I finally decided to see if there wasn’t a better way. I searched the web and found Meditation, Chi Gong and Tai Chi. I still go to doctors as a compliment to using Meditation, Chi Gong and Tai Chi and by doing that after many years I have gotten off most of my medications and feel younger more vibrant and a live then I have ever felt in my life.
